Scouting Profile: Andy McKenzie

Andy McKenzie--6'3", 212 lbs.
Hometown: St. Paul, Minnesota

Evaluation:
Arm Strength: 20/20
Mobility—20/20
Accuracy—18/20
Footwork—20/20
Progression Reads—19/20
Overall—97/100

Pro Player Comparison: Aaron Rodgers

Historic comparison: John Elway

Projected draft position: 1st Round, 1st overall

Strengths--Maximum mobility, strong arm, can make every throw, leadership, shows the ability to make every read (although he occasionally prefers to throw it deep than take the easy dump off to the slot receiver)

Weaknesses--one major injury, can slightly overthrow receivers, can take a few too many sacks, can throw too many INTs taking chances deep

Conclusion: This is the best overall quarterback prospect I've scouted since Andrew Luck. That is saying a lot in a class of strong quarterbacks. McKenzie is by far the best quarterback of the bunch. Draft him immediately. Any pro team is getting a natural leader who has had to deal with offensive line issues throughout the early part of his college career. He has shown the ability to lead a team, make every throw and consistently win. All signs point to an eventual All-Pro.

  3. Ok there are a few things wrong with this. First off he is nowhere near as polished as Aaron Rodgers, his comparison is more like Colin Kaepernick. His Historic Comparison would be Steve McNair or Steve Young. He is not more likely to be drafted in the top 15, but not not first overall.
